Fly-In Brings Record Number of People to Will Rogers’ Birthplace

The Annual Will Rogers & Wiley Post Fly-In was a huge success, with record-setting attendance. In addition to antique planes landing on the 2,000-foot grass strip on Will’s ranch property near Oologah, OK, there was a Cherokee storyteller, inflatable amusements for children, food vendors, an antique and classic car show, and tours of his birthplace home. Pilot Joe Bacon, wearing an eye patch, flew in dressed as Wiley Post, accompanied by Lester Lurk, who made an appearance as Will Rogers, on this special day.

The annual Will Rogers & Wiley Post Fly-In pays tribute to the two who spent their lifetimes promoting aviation. The Will Rogers Memorial Museum’s vision is to introduce, showcase, and celebrate the life, legacy and spirit of Will Rogers. For more information, please visit www.willrogers.com.
